How it works
Registering a brand
Registering your brand for 10DLC is simple, free, and you can do it through FreeClimb.
Step 1: Fill out the brand registration form.
Important Note: Starting October 17, 2024, The Campaign Registry (TCR) is launching a new brand identity verification process called Authentication+ to prevent fraud like impersonation, smishing, and spoofing. This process requires brands with a Public Profit entity type to complete personnel attestation via two-factor authentication (2FA) during the brand registration process.
A 2FA email will be sent to the "Brand Contact Email" with a link and PIN code. The Brand contact must provide their first name, last name, job title, and the PIN from the email to complete the verification. Once verified, the Brand will be designated as VERIFIED and will be able to create 10DLC campaigns.
- FreeClimb representatives configure your brand with TCR.
- FreeClimb submits your brand for brand vetting on your behalf.
- FreeClimb obtains your Brand ID and Identity Status.
- FreeClimb monitors your approval status. If approved, FreeClimb links your brand ID to your FreeClimb account.
Step 2: FreeClimb notifies you that your brand registration is complete and linked to your FreeClimb account.
Brand vetting
With the brand vetting process, (which is a part of the brand registration process), mobile network operators (MNOs) verify if a brand is legitimate and has a history of appropriate messaging practices. The results of brand vetting determine when a brand is able to obtain better MNO terms. Vetting may be required to gain access to special use cases at an MNO’s discretion.
Brand vetting results in a score between 0 and 100, and a Brand’s score places it in the appropriate Message Class and Brand Tier. The higher a brand’s score, the more reliable and compliant it is deemed to be. For that, they may receive priority treatment.
Vetting can be imported from one of two partners: WMC Global and AEGIS.
Should you wish to improve upon your Vetting Brand Score, you may request a re-vet with clarification or new documentation.
At your request, FreeClimb can help with your brand vetting.
Registering a campaign
Register your Campaign after your Brand is successfully registered. Campaign registration is easy—and still free.
Step 1: Fill out the FreeClimb Campaign registration form.
Step 2: FreeClimb reviews your Campaign form and submits it to TCR.
Step 3: TCR and any applicable Direct Connect Aggregator (DCA) review your Campaign.
Step 4: When your Campaign is approved, FreeClimb will link your Campaign to your FreeClimb account and notify you of your approved campaign message throughput.
Step 5: When you’re ready, FreeClimb will work with you and your team to assign the registered Campaign to your designated number(s).
Off-Netting a number
You only need to Off-Net a number if you want to use the SMS or MMS capabilities of a phone number you already own. Off-Netting a number will ensure your SMS communications are transmitted over the same number you use to receive and/or send voice calls. If your customers save your phone number to their contacts, your business name will also populate SMS communications.
Step 1: Download our Letter of Authorization (LOA) form and follow the instructions.
Step 2: FreeClimb will help you Off-Net your number to the FreeClimb platform.
Step 3: FreeClimb enables 10DLC on your designated long code number.
Step 4: Your 10DLC-enabled number will be added to your account in the FreeClimb portal. At this point, you will be able to assign a registered 10DLC campaign to the successfully off netted number.
Linking numbers to your Campaign
As a final step in the 10DLC registration process, FreeClimb links your numbers to your approved Campaign ID. You can either use existing numbers from your FreeClimb account or purchase new numbers via the FreeClimb dashboard. To link your numbers to your Campaign, please contact our support team at support@freeclimb.com.
